Also a little help on cleaning...

Any tips on cleaning a planted tank. I have a 10 gallon with young plants. I am familiar with the process of cleaning aquariums just wondering if any of ya'll had helpful tips.

i just skim the vac tube over the surface of the substrate to pick up the gunk at the bottom. if it's too tight to get into i'll swirl it around to stir it up and suck it out of the water.

Once the plants mature a bit, you will have no problem gravel vac'ing in and around them. In the mean time just hit up the empty spaces in the gravel during your weekly maintenance.

If things start getting built up around the base of the plants get a turkey baster to suck it up, it has a little more control than vacuuming.
