The tank is beautifull, It looks like something you would see in the mountains deep in the woods yet its underwater. Very cool. Never done a planted tank before seeing that is very inspiring. good job looks great.

Hi,

Some more pictures I didnt get to post the other day...

25th March 2008 - A quick picture of my 20G Dwarf Cichlid breeding tank (too many teen ager's atm)

----------------------------------

Overall i would say the last year has been a vast learning experience. I went from a total newbie, falling for all the usual planted tank traps, coming here and asking the standard questions again and again, to someone who actually know's what they are doing (to a certain extent).

There is real sense of achivement from finally getting on top of the algae problems and sorting your dosing out (THANK YOU MR BARR N CO).

Scape wise i've not even really starting "playing" yet. The last load of plants I bought in were an experiment in "what grows and what doesnt" in my "off the shelf" corner unit + pressurized Co2.

Finding the "sweet spots" for the light distrubution was also important, as there are definatly areas of tank that are dark spots due to the centralised location of the lights.

I am also amazed at how the plants respond to eradication of BGA. With regular cleaning and dosing they were doing ok, surviving on many counts, with the dwarf clover the only real victim.

But once i got the BGA nailed everything started growing like crazy. It was especially noticable in leaf size on the Red Tiger Lotus which now grows leaves as big as my head!!

So in summary,

THANK YOU AA!

for all the help you have given me to enjoy my new hobby more each day.

Best Regards,

Jac

You're definately getting the hang of it. Wonderful color in those plants. I look forward to when you start "painting" your scape with those colors.

Hi,

Other then a random outbreak of fuzz algae things have been going well. But i've decided to change things around a bit since i've got things working how they should and growing well.

Here are some pictures of the tank in its final state of this scape, ive let it grow a bit wild...

New plan is to open it all out. I've done the jungle now I want to be able to see the fish too.

I'll post something later this week to show you where its at.

Best Regards,

Jac

Wow, one of the nicer tanks I've seen. Well done!

Is that foreground plant in the bottom of the last pic stargrass?

It's dwarf soft rush. Its doing pretty will tbh and multiplies pretty fast. I'm going to use that as the "meadow" between the mounds of the new open layout.
