During setup:
This tank was setup in an office so I have a tarp down to prevent water from getting into the carpet :)
The following are me placing wood and rock before putting in the substrate.

I already have a few plants from my old tank including crypts, Anubias, sword plants and an aponogeton(possibly crispus, although leaves are too small at the moment to identify)

Recommendations and comments appreciated :D

UPDATE :D
Today I added in the plants

The plants are:
- Thin Vallisneria
- Pennywort var. 'Gold'
- Cryptocoryne Wendtii var. 'Tropica' (I think)
- Cryptocoryne Parva
- Aponogeton crispus OR undulatus (too small to identify)
- Echinodorus 'Ozelot'
- Echinodorus Bleheri
- Echinodorus Macrophyllus
- Anubias Nana
- Anubias Barteri
- Microsorum Pteropus(REALLY small atm)

I wanted to put in Pogostemon Helferi and Cryptocoryne Balasnae on the left hand side but my LFS didnt have any, I might get some later on.
Any thoughts/suggestions on plants?
:D

Lookin' good! I like the look of the driftwood coming down like roots. May I ask what kind of substrate are you using? It's lovely.

Thank you :D
I am using an iron rich soil underneath and on the top is 1-2mm natural black gravel. It dosen't have a brand name, it's mined in quarry's in Australia. :)

Here are some new images with clearer water. I took a while to clear up and I still have some issues with slime on the wood, so I put some Purigen in the filter which has helped a lot.

Again, I'm sorry about the glare, but I can't really do anything about it unless
I take the pictures at night.
No fish yet, all I have in there at the moment is a group of CRS.
All the plants are doing surprising well, especially the crypts shown in the 3rd picture. The valls in the back are already producing runners, although all the older leaves are dying off with lots off new greener leaves coming through. Some plants are showing yellowing leaves, so I put in a little extra nitrogen and potassium to deal with it.
Hopefully getting some otocinclus and colombian tetras soon.

I had a bit of algae issues lately because I couldn't clean the tank for 2 weeks -.-"
My arms hurt from scrubbing it all off D:
I took out all I could manually, an put in a power head to create more movement and prevent any more algae from settling on the plants. I added in my first fish(finally), just 2 bristlenoses and a gold spot gibbi.

I wasn't planning to put in any big plecos, but I got it for free at my work, so I thought why not. :)
I will probably end up re-homing it in the future, but for now I will keep it in this tank.
I will most likely be putting in some sterbai Corydoras next week depending how the plecos do.

nice work! yea those bristle noses will eat Alot of Algea.. I've had two of them in my tank for 2 weeks. and they completely cleaned everything. The rock, the plants, the glass... it's crazy!!

The bn's have been hard at work, although at the moment they only seem to be cleaning the rocks and glass, not the plants :p

Just cleaned the tank today, I pruned a lot of the old, dying leaves from the valls(when I got them, the retailer cut the top of the leaves). Now lots more thinner leaves have grown in with some already reaching the surface. The crypts at the front are doing better than I expected and the large Anubias already has 4 new leaves.

I might take out the Pennywort and replace it with something a lot more 'bushier'.

The gibbi is doing well, I saw him out even though the lights were on :)

Hey all, I finally got the first large group of fish in today :D
I've added:
12 x Columbian tetras
8 x Sterbai Cories
2 x Royal Whiptails

They have settled in great although the tetras still need to colour up a bit.

The tank looks like it has an aqua background because the tube at the back is blue. I was thinking of putting the blue tube at the front and white at the back to fix this. Any suggestions? Should I just leave it?

Unfortunately I lost a cory today :(
It was extremely underweight when i got him and only realised when i got them in the tank. I tried to feed them bloodworms but they were all eating except for that one. And now i cant find two of them :/
Im cleaning the tank tomorrow so hopefully I will be able to find all of the 7 remaining cories. As for the other fish, all are doing really well, especially the gold spott gibbi.
I will post some pics with the plants progress when I clean it tomorrow.
:D
