Pruning Madagascar Lace plant
I have a Madagascar Lace plant that has a long flowering runner. Do I need to remove this and if so do I clip it close to the base of the bulb? I know with household plants this type of "runner" can use much of a plants energy.
I'd like the plant to spend more time getting taller. Any advice? |

Chances are that it won't get any taller, as the size of the plant is pretty much decided by the size of the bulb. Once it has reached the flower stage, it is mature, and will start to form a bulb for it's next emergence. Cutting the flower stalk, may or may not help increase the bulb size. Alternatively, you can fertilize the flower, manually, and try to grow the seeds.
