Algae Took over my 55 gallon tank while I was out of town. (I had someone taking care of it, but they didn't do it like I would have). I've tried several different things but it's getting worse. I've also found tiny black "dots" swimming around. The fish (mostly Cory's) seem fine, And are laying eggs, but I can't tolerate the green water anymore. When I clean, it will look nice for a week or two before the algae takes over again. I'm ready to move all the fish to a temp tank and completely empty the 55 gallon...replacing the sand and everything. Here is my question.....I don't want to put any of the green water in my temp tank. How dangerous is it to put my fish directly into the new tank without their own water (it's being conditioned now, and I will wait 3 days)?
