Why do they do this?

I've noticed online stores selling unidentified species, such as sea slugs like this one Orange Tipped Sea Slug - Unidentified species

I tried researching what they eat, where they are from, or any sea slug that would have similar needs. Do companies just buy them and hope they eat something then they starve when a customer buys them? I would never buy one and I think they might have some unusual eating requirement like eating on sponges and such. Guess what I'm trying to get at is why do companies do sell unidentified species with no info on what they feed them or anything? Just so they can make money off of a naive customer? :nono: Just curious and thanks in advance.

I'm sure blue zoo knows what to feed it and could just ask.
