fish behavior...

I have a question on my fishes behavior, if anyone has a fish that does this, let me know. My electric blue cichlid does it the most, he will float right under the filter for hours :? What is he doing? Sometimes I have to really look under there to see if he is still under the tank. Could he be avoididng aggression from the other 2 cichlids? Then sometimes my red zebra will do it for a few minutes too, but not for hours like the blue one. The bumblebee is too fat to do it I think, lol. Maybe he likes the security of being niched and hidden in the filter, I dunno. I think It's weird. THX,
