Yeah pets at home are not the best for advice that's who sold my mum her "sucker loach" for a 10g tank and said it would be fine. Even though they grow 12" long and the tank is 12"....

I always use the feed method but I put the net in the water during the day so they get used to it, throw the food in when I get back from work and lift the net, usually get more fish than I wanted...

Maybe he's still adjusting to the new tank or maybe he is simply getting enough from the glass etc. keep an eye on him. Maybe try target feeding if things don't improve.

If you put all new water in the tank then that's probably the problem, the fish wouldn't of been acclimated properly so the sudden change in conditions would of caused shock. :(
