You are mistaken. Sparkling Gourami are often used in 10g Nano tanks. They stay about 1-1.5". They are slow predators that will not compete in most community tanks. They sometimes only eat live food....

Try adding an Algae wafer or a leaf of organic rinsed lettuce and see if anyone bites ? It won't be conclusive proof as many fish will eat wafers.

Every Betta is different. I had one that attacked and killed Cories. I do think full sized Cories would be pushing it. Even AquAdvisor said 6 Peppereds and a Betta was 111% that is overstocked.
