I drilled the same for the return but wish I would have went with a smaller return because its hard to find the fittings I want....

I'm sure it is somewhat a benefit but the noise is rather annoying, and if you run a protein skimmer, this isn't doing anything your skimmer isn't .

Also I've noticed when I do a large water change if the coraline algae is out of water for even a shot while it will die. I've had a line in my tank of white coraline algae from doing water changes.

I had some zoas that didn't ever open under full light (120w LEDs) but didn't die or recede either. Finally moved them to partial shade and they are open all day now and multiplying,

All that matters is the size of the base , the glass doesn't matter. If its the same wattage (or even less wattage I believe ) your good.

I would do 4x50w multi chip LEDs whatever color you like maybe warm white or cool white. Cree has some great lamps like this, I think they are called xpg's for about $30 each. Get you 2 heatsinks...

It's interesting looking, kinda reminds me of jewelry it's light and dark shades of a silver'ish color, it has multiple openings or "mouths" kinda like an open brain coral. Any ideas?
