Fish less cycling prevents fish from exposure to harmful levels of ammonia. Nothing more. I wouldn't add 15 fish at one time to any tank young or old.

I've never heard that before. Fish less cycling prevents harm to fish while cycling. However, adding a large bioload will cause another cycle.

I don't think that is hair algae. I've never seen it shoot up in single stalks like that. It usually starts in patches and grows up.
Might be spaghetti worms.

Optics direct the light coming out of the led. Higher optics are good to spread light(shallow tanks) and lower optics focus the light(deep tanks). I have the 90 degree optics on my unit at 10" above...

+1 with ich in the DT the only option is to remove the fish and run fallow. I would recommend getting a QT setup for the old fish now and any new fish later.

I would say to just start over. Break it down. Clean it well including sponge for filter. Recycle the filter pad for a couple of weeks and try again. I'm at a loss. Sorry.

I think there is a chart on that site that shows what would work. Or you could just email Logan. He's a great guy and would be able to help you pick the right light setup. He responds fairly quickly.

The 2 braces would creat some shadowing. The 48 has a space in the middle so no lights are above the center brace of a 4' tank. I don't know how that would work over a 6' tank.

I have the 48 over my 120. I run it at a peak of 30 blue and 25 white. I have about 8 types of zoas that all have new heads growing and a frogspawn that's about to split.
