Depends on what it is. What does it do when you try to catch it? Does it retract back into a hole in your rock? Do you ever see the whole worm? If it's a peanut or spaghetti worm, the bulk of the worm lives in the rock and it just sends out some feeding tentacles - so catching it would be virtually impossible.
