I'm honestly not sure. They were the only fish in my 5 gallon Eclipse. I had read about them and heard that a trio would do well. When I saw them at the LFS there were only 3, so I decided to chance it. It worked for me, but like I said I have no idea how to sex them. I took the chance because I had so many tanks it would have been easy to separate them.
