as thincat says, the 600 calcium isnt harmful to your livestock, but it WILL upset the ionic balance of the water. Explianing it further than that would require more chemistry than I remember from High school, but the result is your calcium and alkalinity levels affect each other and can cause alk spikes. Get those levels under control
