this is going to be short because of how pissed i am...

They are all dead!! I recently stocked a 90gal planted tank with around 100 tetras/rasboras/loaches/rams... in two separate batches.

i expected some dead loss... but 30%!!??? Really!??

Ask details and ill answer... just cant get a clear thought to write a long post right now.

Ya I don't wanna come off as rude or anything but this may be more your fault then the store. That's a pretty big strain on your BB.

I'm just curious to know what the ammonia level is at. Clearly no fault of Fishtown, except for letting 50 fish go at a time 8-(

Yeah there should have been some questions asked when they bagged up that many fish at one time. I understand that's a big sale for them but taking the time to understand the customer and their goals mean more sales in the future.

Yeah no not an issue..
there were 120 fish that were currently in the tank... they got moved out to another tank... and with in 4 hours of that 50 fish were added... a week later another 50 were added...

This is NOT the first time that i have had a major loss of fish from fishtown... we actually stopped going there because every time we bought fish (in the past 20 yrs) almost 30-50% died within 2 weeks...

Oh well if that's the case then you should just be kicking yourself for going back lol sorry to hear about the major loss though.

Agreed... unfortunately not too many LFS near me... I absolutely loved Aquarium Adventure, even with their high prices, but they are gone and PetsWarehouse that took their spot i dont care for.

Start buying online. I've had less trouble having things shipped to my door then picking stuff up locally to be honest.

I'm more in SW but these are the sites me or my buddy use
Livefishdirect.com
Tangledupincichlids.com
Aquabid.com
Liveaquaria.com
Thatpetplace.com
Bluezooaquatics.com
Reefs2go.com

I've been to Fishtown USA twice ... probably not going there again. I never bought a single fish which was the problem. Out of the dozens upon dozens of tanks they have ... not one Barb which is what I was really into at the time.

Too bad the Petswarehouse (Carle Place I assume) doesn't do it for you, that's where I prefer to go .. decent stock and fair prices on some things.

If you haven't already ... there's Parrots of the World in Rockville Centre and Total Aquariums in Lynbrook. Both are on Sunrise HWY on the RHS if your driving East.

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
nitrate 20-40
ph 6.8

tank has been established and running for over 4 years.

I'm not familiar with planted tanks, but from what I do know about nitrates and plants I will have to question the 20-40 nitrate reading...?
