I have a 10 gallon tank with a tetra whisperer 30 and my betta just got sucked up/ swam up the filter intake after about 5 minutes I was able to blow him out but his scales on the top and bottom of his body are rubbed off and he is stressed out please help!!!

I'd lower the filter intake for a while and add some stress coat of some sort, I hope he's ok

I use API stress coat, and be sure to have good water conditions, its the best medicine

I did lower the intake I have a coditioner that improves slime coat will that help?

Yeah, that should help, but other than that all you can do is have good water conditions and wait, if you do that, he has a good chance

Send a picture of him. Let me see how bad it is. I'll jump in and try to help.

Also, a Tetra Whisper 30 is for a 30 gal tank. The pump is too powerful for him. In the future, keep it turned down low, which is more for closer to 10 gals, and since he can fit into the intake tube, I would suggest covering it. Take a knee-high nylon and rubber band it over the intake tube. Make sure it's pulled tight, or else the material won't get through. That way, this won't happen again.

I'll attack a photo but there isn't much to see. He is alive this morning but staying near the bottom I put a different filter intake so he won't get sucked up and I put the flow low as possible.

I think he is sleeping he just darted around the tank when I took a picture. Actually he has been darting around the tank a lot..

This fish is very special too my he was a gift from my girlfriend and I'll do anything to keep him alive thank you all for your help.

Remove carbon if you have it and start treating with Voogle NOW .... It's an all natural med and will help keep him from getting bacteria/fungal infection. Helps strengthen immune system
If LFS doesn't have it go to drsfostersmith.com
Garlic will help with immune system and help heal too

He might pick at crushed garlic , garlic oil (garlic guard by seachem) or Thera -A food all has garlic

I'll try dicing some when I get home does anyone know why he darts around the tank? He's never done this until now. Could it be because he is in pain?

I'm changing substrate/ adding plants this week could this be even more harmful to him?
