Anyone know anything about the acro crab, cause I got one!!!

How I determine if is a good or a bad one?
Thank you

Can you post a picture? Acro crabs are great in acro colonies. But if it isn't an acro crab, it could be a kind of crab you don't want to have in your tank.

Hi, I'll try cause is only a acropora frag and the crab is really small and be really hard to get a pics...

My acro is turning white, and I don't know what is the cause,LFS told me that appen and maybe I can get the color back, and also told me if the crab is hairy is a bad one....
I don't know much about it only keep reading article on the net

Well, it is extremely bleached and there is alot of skeleton showing. How did you acclimate it to the tank/lighting? What kind of lighting do you have, they need high lighting to survive.

Only 4 t5,

The LFS told me was enought,
I just acclimate to temp and slowly to the water....
I think I screw up ,read about light acclimation, and I never did it....
There is anything I can do at this point?

Keep water parameters perfect and pray. It is pretty beat, but I have an acro in my tank now that I thought was dead. Kept it in the tank just because and went to take it out one day, turned it around and there was some tissue left. It is currently regrowing over the old skeleton.

Nice!

Hopefully mine be back too,
How you can tell if is dead?

By the way, look like the crab have hair, can really take a good pic of it.

Thank you for your help

How can I pick it up? Cause is hiding on the acro, and is really small

Tweezers work well. Use your hands if you have to. They aren't poisonous but can give a nice little pinch

Going to try, but I better take a look to the crab again when the lights are on.

Thanx

No problem. The majority of hairy crabs( just like spined starfish) are predators. Something like 92%. Being its sometimes almost impossible to determine species I would just remove a hairy crab immeidietly

Only crab that has hairy legs that is attempted to be kept are emerald crabs. Even then it can be hit or miss. Some people, like myself, have no issues while others have them munch down on their corals.

Don't forget the ruby as well. Mine was actually better then my emerald imo.

Ya pretty much, my ruby seemed to be a lot more active then my emerald though.
