(I wasn't going to get the shrimp but many of you said it would be fine)

For the 3g:
1- half mooned male Betta

I don't have many of these tanks yet but I will soon (i have the 10g, the 3g and the 5g but the 5g isn't set up yet) This thread is here for the opinions on the stocking :) thanks!

Sounds like a lot! I would try red cherry shrimp instead of ghost, I think they are abit smaller and breed easier

The 125 seems to be a bit heavily stocked to me. Those clown loaches are enormous.

The two ghost shrimp in the 5g seems to be a little sparse. I would go for at minimum 5 so they start breeding and can keep you stocked on shrimp

After all is said and done though I might look at fewer tanks. That is a LOT of maintenance to keep up on and you might find that it's a bit too much for you to want to do on a daily basis.

Ya but she will prob get them small and they grow slow.

Ill have my moms help. She is going to be co owner of the fish.

I don't really want to breed them

Yeah, but if they breed it will keep their numbers up and you won't have to worry about buying more.

Plugging the numbers in on the plans for the 125 in Aqadvisor (yeah yeah aqadvisor doesn't mean anything w/e) puts your stock at 150% which means a lot of upkeep. That's how high I took my 29g and I had to do multiple weekly pwcs to keep the nitrates at optimal levels.

What should I do to lower it?

Aqadvisor also tries to get you to understock your tank

Should I only get 3 loaches and not get the 75g tank?

I see understocked and overstocked as a much more personal view on tanks. There is really no other tool that gives as much useful advice on stocking levels for tanks (at least not from what I've seen) and of course it will try to get you to go below the maximum bioload of a tank. That doesn't mean it's suggestions are invalid, just conservative. Nothing ever went wrong because there weren't enough fish in the tank (assuming that school sizes were sufficient) whereas too many fish in a tank can cause massive problems.

As for number of tanks, I would try to keep the number of display tanks to a maximum of 3. More than that just starts getting ridiculous. For example, when I finish school and have a house built, I plan on having a 300g reef and a 150g planted. Not counting the miscellaneous breeding and grow out tanks that would be the most DTs I would want tank maintenance on.

As for the loaches, I'm not saying it can't be done. It might just end up requiring a lot of maintenance to keep the tank happy. The clown loaches are one of the fish that I've always wanted.

I never said it is invalid. I have used it plenty of times before

Well, I'm going to go with my gut feeling and have my minimum be 5. I think I can handle it. Thanks for the advice :) don't think I'm off handing it. I did seriously think about it but 3 seems to little of tanks for me. I have three right now and it's super easy. I just want a bigger challenge. Thank you for your input :)

If you want a bigger challenge then you could always make that 125 into a reef tank :)
