Bad picture... But here's my tank right now. I ordered a green ricordea, two zoas, and the gbta online. But the website didn't have the purple firefish in stock... So that's another week or so without my firefish. UGH! But now I have to figure out placement. The gbta is going where the condy is right now. That's the only one I know for sure. I kind of want the ricordea on the sand be though. But now toward the center, more to the left so I can put a Duncan up front in the middle. What do you guys think?

Well my anemone didn't enjoy my spot... Haha. It went from that bottom right corner to where it is now. Should I move it back or let it do whatever it wants? And another question. Will the tentacles stay small like this or will they grow?

UPDATE: I believe it has finally found its spot in the tank. PHEW!

Don't move it, you can damage it if you move it - just let it do its thing and it looks like it has. It will change shape from bubbly to stringy. If it looks like its reaching towards the light, then you don't have enough light. It looks good though, lucky it didn't find a spot at the back of your tank

So I want to take a challenge. I know the feedback is going to be mostly negative but I want to try it. I want to try and keep a mandarin dragonet in the tank. I am starting a refugium and will post pictures of it tomorrow. It's a unique design I made myself! Obviously I will get one that is trained to eat frozen food also. So, shall I try it? I know most people will say no, but my capabilities are greater than most people may think. I think I can keep the mandarin thriving, but maybe not. Is it possible?

Get your refugium thriving first and make sure theres ampful food before you get a dragonet. Ive seen dragonets thrive in a 20 gallon, but after a year after the refugium was set up. I say go for it

And a quick question! Does anybody know what kind of macro algae this is? I got it from my LFS and they had no idea as of the name. She said somebody had to tear down their tank so they gave it to her for free! Will it support pods like chaeto does? It really looks like chaeto. I also ordered some more macro algae from reefs2go.com too along with a Duncan coral.

Right now I'm actually just using two flourescent bulbs hanging over it. My LFS said that they have either an led that screws into a normal light socket that is very high powerful, or the same light on my display tank except I wuldturn all of the blue off. What should I go with?

You can use regular flourescent bulbs for a fuge. Bulbs in the 6500k range work very well.

Even with a fuge you may need to dose pods every few days or train your mandarin to eat frozen or pellets take a shot glass and put pellets in the glass lay on its side in the area the mandarin hangs out most and it will hopefully go in and eat them

That IS chaeto, and even warmer would work, 4700K or so. If you have 2 CFL bulbs (you didn't specify CFL or tube) that are a warm colour (they look like a warm yellowish light) then you are set up perfect for your 'fuge. I wouldn't bother spending money on LED lights until the CFL (or whatever) burn out.

Yes they are CFL bulbs. That's good. I'm glad! I think I will pick up some bigger CFL's next time I'm at the hardware store though because these ones are actually relatively small. But for now I'm definitely fine. I got some more macro algae too so I'll take a picture once I get home.

So here's my fuge, the new ricordea, and the unopened Duncan. Yuck. I have a brown algae problem. Hopefully the fuge will take out some of the nutrients soon.

Also I have a little worm on the glass and a tiny snail. Does anybody know if it's harmful, or helpful?
