New fish house

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an interest in aquariums or fish keeping!
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Woah that is so AMAZING!! When do you think you'll finnish it all???

Well said lol. Even when it's all set up it's never finished. I'm constantly moving things around!

That was my professional answer!
It's true though, always something to be done, if you get one looking right another needs attention. If they all look great you go out and get a new fish! Start again! The cycle continues. . . . .

Full Flow.

Finally the parts needed for the second FX5 arrived. After some teething trouble including a leaky purge valve the filter came back to life. The BIG Tank now circulates up to 750 litres at a maximum of 4400 litres per hour.

Tomorrow the air pumps o2 system will go online, lack of parts delayed fit. This will feed up to 5 tanks, 24 hours +lights off boost for the planted tanks.

Picture of tank taken at 19:00 Thursday 21st November

:ROFLMAO:
It wasn't entertaining when I assembled all the (finally) gathered parts for fx5 no2 and the purge valve leaked. While my temp tank for the clowns was set up it only ran on one filter, I robbed some spares from filter 2. I completely forgot about the valve. Lots of water everywhere! Dismantled and fixed purge valve, I dare not operate it, but it does not leak! That should see me ok until my cheque clears.

Thank you for your comments, I am smiling at this point in time! (Secret photography freak)(y)

Late to the party!

I'm not sure if it was the time in tank or the 2nd filter, these shots were taken before the food went in! Just like the old days! They were not fussed at all by my presence.

They get more photogenic by the day.

Enjoyed reading this thread pal. Those clowns are in need of a hormone injection or two to multiply them :D

Diddy P.

All settled in, tank @ 1.003 SG. :D

Eating well but doesn't recognise anything but snails as food, had a little nip on frozen chopped mussel, he didn't really eat it though.

Hello boss, today they were fearless, the usual scatty dashing but. . . I'm well happy I can't describe it!

Today I am part of the shoal! < that will have to do!!!

Edit- Alpha loach is obvious in all three pictures.

The next step towards my ultimate goal.

Tuesday 26th. Pre feed party.
Time for some new stock I think!

Some sort of gain can also be made toward the ultimate goal of a marine system. 8 years of waiting boils down to the next 6 months!
I hope I read enough of the right material.

Only one lingering problem with a Cory who seems to be ok some days and other days she's far from it.

dude...you should get a fire eel.

Do you know the Latin name? I'll check it out.

Next for this tank is an algae eater, hopefully L090 papa panaque.

Alternatively any xingu system plec will do because of higher temperature for the clowns and the softer more acid water conditions.

Maybe if it's safe?

I'm considering putting the bichir in with the clowns but the prospect of bite marks! No sir, not a chance!

Next phase is the reef.

Edit- Fire eels (Mastacembelus erythrotaenia) found it! Warm acid is fine! Maybe! Good call!

According to Wikipedia, the scientific name is, "Mastacembelus erythrotaenia."

Bb, drink caffeine! :D--(y)

Thank you though, I appreciate the assistance!

I searched fire eel, you only get one option. Actually could be a perfect set of tank mates. Already stock boxes (not packets) of bloodworm, if I can get the eels onto frozen it should present no problems. The clowns eat at least a pack a week.

FOOD FIGHT!

I've got a tire track eel that will fight bloodworms from my hand lol. I might let you have him when it gets warmer again. He'll outgrow my 45 at some point. He's gotta be 8" now though.
