Watts per gal of Glut???? NO glut will be OK for treating Algae in a tank with .75wpg of light. In fact that low of light might be part of the problem. OS.

it's 20 watts for the 29 gal, started dosing 5ml of glut twice a day. Think I shout get a new light? It's only an ozelot sword, java fern and the new crypt in there..

How Brookster,
20 W on a 29g which is 18 inches tall is really low light. The Java fern would probably be okay, but the sword and crypt will really struggle. When you can, upgrade to achieve 30 to 40 PAR for LED or a dual bulb T5HO 30 inch florescent. Either one of these would be give you solid medium light you need for Swords and Crypts to grow best.
On a side note, wait till you see Walking Dead tonight. An old familiar face reappears. Talk to you later, Scales.

I have the java up on dw so it's doing great, the sword is actually growing very well, clipped all the shipping leaves and it's grown in beautifully, the crypt was out if another tank but seems to be ok for now, I haven't decided between a build my led or a dual t5ho for it... I cannot wait for dead!

Honestly, if the plant your wanting to grow are doing well, then I would not worry too much about upgrading. But when you do upgrade go with the BML. I've seen one in person and for me it's a no-brainer. They are the future. OS.

Oh man, you guys are dead fans? That's great. Is this really going to be the last season? I can't figure out for the life of me how they are going to end it.

May the force be with you.

I heard they signed for season 6...it better not be over! ? I'm not even sure I'm ready for the mid season finale...

Nah, I don't watch it but I think my son watched all 5 seasons this summer on NetFlix. Ugh.
@Rodeo - I thought this thread looked familiar (it's yours). Brookster does remind me of Dino. Funny. I do miss the ole gang.

Fresh, started reading the thread from the beginning, how did I miss your genius idea of putting a peice of air tubing on the end of the syringe for spot treating?!?! Will be doing that today!

That is an excellent idea, the only thing limiting my treatments is not wanting to disrupt the fish with my big stupid arm..

Between vampires, werewolves, and zombies, the latter seems most plausible. Pandemic, post-apocalyptic, anarchy...scary stuff has its appeal. If roller coasters weren't scary, then there would be no lines.
Anyhow, how are the tanks doing? I learned a lot this year (from the folks here) and made significant changes with lights, ferts, and CO2.

Age and maturity can be mutually exclusive (ask my wife). I don't look my age but that might change by funding two kids in college next year.

The syringe extension works best with a short length of air line tubing connected to a longer length of rigid tubing (the tubing commonly found in the old under gravel riser tubes). Allows for precise spot treatments.
