I went to an aquarium auction and bid on boxes of miscellaneous supplies. Hobs,hoses, air compressors, and who knows what. I was outbid.
The auctioneer was in a kilt with a big ol beer belly and a handle bar moustache. In fact there were 3 kilts running the auction. Great stuff auctioned off for smoking deals.
Saw one nerd buy a piece of dw for $95(not the best deal, but it was awesome).

when all you do is brows and order coral online ,
as much $ I spent in the last 5 years on coral I could have bought a new F-350 free and clear .
 
If you drive 2.5 hours to an aquarium clubs auction. And spend the whole day at said auction. 14 hours :-D

when you want to go to a fish auction so bad that you try (and fail miserably) to get some kind of aquarium club going in your area.

That would be cool! But so much shipping and stuff. I wish I had a local club where I could swap fish and find cool stuff without having to order everything out of state.

Yeah. My local club is very small and we are hoping to get stuff up and running so the closest one is the other side of NY. But they have a huge massive club and this was like their 37th!!!!! Annual auction. Definitely worth going and because ours is so small and no one else really does what I mostly do (shrimp and nano fish) it is worth 2.5 hours each way :)
