Well guys the tank has taken a large change in direction.

Ive lowered the light levels massively and removed a lot of fast growing stems in favour of crypts and such. This is to lower maintenance time

As this is a long process because of the slower growth times, i am not happy to post a FTS.

Heres a few teaser pics though...

I understand the change up. Tending to fast growing plants can become a chore. Hope we see a FTS soon...
With the weather being nicer I'm spending more time outdoors and after mowing the lawn, I look at my overgrown tank and say "No, not you, too!"

Either way it's still going to look awesome mate. I don't think it's possible for your tank can look bad or below par.

Anyone here have any experience with staghorn??

Im getting a bit in a certain area of the tank. My presumption is poor co2 flow because of the layout.

If anyone has any other thoughts please share

I was going to inquire about the presence of some reddish dust on the dhg.. i get that too, think it's just the build up of detritus, either way it's flow related??

The reddish dust you mention is not algae.

Its my rubbish scissors!! Instead of being nice clean cuts on the grass, its damaging it, causing the tips to brown.

I am trying out some new scissors i bought, to see if it improves

Sureeee blame it on the scissors :p my scissors must really suck because I have clado all over my dhg...

Decided from next week to try doing 2 50% water changes a week to see if theres any improvement

The more water changes should help the plant health. I don't have too much experience with staghorn so I am not too much help. Good luck!

No i got no experience with it either. Im hearing its caused by detritus being kicked up into the water column. Makes sense considering all the fast stems ive pulled recently

I've had staghorn before. I find that it tends to thrive in deadspots where there's low current. It's fairly easy to beat. I just manually remove as much is I can then spot treat the rest with h2o2 or glut.
