It's just fine :) If you can get a little closer to 80, that would also be good. Do you have an Ace Hardware store near you? They have a pure ammonia dilution (no surfactants, etc.) that I've found useful for fish less cycling. You can get a bacteria colony larger that way than with fish food. If not, no worries! Just add one or two fish at a time when the cycle is done and wait for the bacteria to build up before adding more.

Okay! I can search around but I haven't been able to find any. The fish guy didn't even know what I was talking about when I asked for it! But I'll look into some other stores

I am planning on adding some more shorter plants in the tank, does anyone have any ideas for easy to take care of plants?

Tank looks good! Some plants that are pretty easy are anubias, crypts (they might melt a little before they grow), java moss, java ferns

Star repens would be a really good, small carpet plant.

They have them at Petsmart. Oh and DON'T buy plants that are semi aquatic or you don't know what it is. The workers usually sell you something that will die pretty quickly if you don't know what it is. If your at the store and you like a plant but you don't know what it is, do a quick Google search

Some others would be Sagittaria Subulata, moss ball, and hygrophila pinnatifida

Okay! I got some swords because my uncle told me they were pretty easy to take care of and I like the look of them, and I will look into those that you mentioned

Like how do I prune them?

You can just pluck the leaf or clean some scissors and then cut them. There are some special stainless steel aquascaping tools you can buy but they get pretty pricy

Oh gosh. That's another story entirely. I was thinking a school of neon tetras and maybe some Corydoras but I don't think they would fit inside of just a ten gallon.

They both like schools so you couldn't do both, but I have ideas and so do lots of otter people

Here's a few factors to help you figure out what fish will do well. Will you have lots of plants? Will you have shrimp and snails?

I think I've decided to just keep my snails in my 3 gallon tank, so I don't think I would have either shrimp or snails in the tank
