Here's a couple of tanks with house plants as natural water filters. I have 5 larger tanks that use these house plants in place of high end filtration systems. Way less expensive and the plants do a much better job of keeping the tank water clear of dissolved wastes than the mechanical gizmos.

Everyone ....and whoever fed him a tbsp of pellets....

He was being fasted because I had cleaned tank at 10am and found tons of food in there at 5pm.... and the Betta bloated and pigging out

He's fine, but I vacuumed four times before getting it all out of there

I added my neons and minnows back in from the ten gallon(they underwent treatment there for fungus, while I treated the Betta separately in the 29 with daily cleaning).....so they will pick up extra food added in the future

The Betta is social, so tank mates aren't an issue

Subtle changes to my Planted tank. Carpet filling in a bit more, especially after the first trim. Planted Staurogyne repens on the hill. Added fish to the tank.
