Need to be at least 1 1/2" pvc, they have some weight, threaded gas pipe would work.

Do you just have the one? Wondering about connecting them together thru a timer etc. Yeah that guy on YouTube used 1 1/2" too I think. How did you hang yours? I saw some complaints about the rigging being a little clumsy on amazon. Looks fairly easy to connect to each other but pretty bulky an messy over the tank. The cleaner the look the better for me. Hiding as much guts as possible...

They're cheap enough.. they make my clowns look awesome so... hit me up if you want/need some spiffy yet affordable suspension options. You seem like metal guy?? Exposed everything, industrial like. I'd like to get some antique dentist lamps and retro fit aquarium lighting in there.. blah blah blah I'm shutting up

Actually you have a point, why settle I'm going to get creative with the light housing. I like your idea on the antique dentist lamps but I won't steal that just yet. I'm going to start craigslist searching "light fixture". I bet here in NC there might be some cool old motor sports or farmhouse type antique fixture that inspires me. Might as well make it a true work of art and that will give me time to grow out my 40 gallon nursery of plants too.

You think plants stand a better chance if for example if I were to attach, wrap, and grow out Anubis around driftwood prior to putting in main tank? I figured the bigger and more securely attached the better before the tug-o-war starts

Btw whoever's tank this is I wanted to post a pic to go on record, awesome tank and will be the inspiration for my aquascape. If mine ends up half this cool I'll be thrilled!

Immature side note this morning:

My 1" baby EBA would like to be entered in the worlds longest trailer in relation to body length. If anyone's going bungee jumping today, he's in!

For hanging light fixtures I'm using black steel/iron gas pipes as well as building matching canopy/hood to match the stand I built back in November.

Lights arrived today, you weren't kidding Brookster little weight to these bad boys. Time to put the thinking cap on before committing to mounting method. I like that set up Aqua I just don't have the wood space around tank to do it.

You could mount the flanges onto the sides of the tank and do the same method I did just add a 90° elbow to the flanges, that should work perfectly if that's the style you're looking for

Ginger geo's just arrived, for the record I ordered from Imperial Tropicals online out of Lakeland FL. Well packaged, good communication and nice looking fish. Was my first ever online order and was a pleasant experience. Here are some crappy pics of each geo. Looks like 2 males and 3 females to me.

Got 2 of the three lights hung still need to tweek angle on one a bit. Going to hang the middle on a separate smaller pvc a few inches out to account for bow. My wife is going to want me to make this look "wooden" at some point I'll hit @brookster and the rest of you carpenters up for that a few months from now.

Ps disregard the decor most of that is for seeding bacteria right now.
