    HELP!! PROBABLE PARASITES

Thanks for the info! I don't usually over-feed, but my fish's appetites were poor, so I had been putting in shrip pellets & algae tabs in hopes to entice them. I did 3 PWC w gravel cleaning in the past week for the parasite RX, so I should be all set now. Everyone seems much better today...

    HELP!! PROBABLE PARASITES

I forgot to mention that when I noticed the problem, there were tons of tiny white worms on top of the plastic baby hide-out seaweed. Obviously, I took out the seaweed & sterilized it. I haven't put it back yet. Maybe I should to see if the stuff is still there?

    HELP!! PROBABLE PARASITES

I can't believe I typed a long post, then deleted it by mistake Here it is again. I don't have time to search the internet & do alot of research. I have read enough to guess that my problem is parasites. (belly rubbing, sluggish) I have 3 established tanks w/ live bearers & tetras. All was...

    Bottom cleaner?

The subject was "bottom feeder", which was my question, so I thought it was appropriate to join this forum. My apologies for being out of line. I AM new, so didn't realize there was an incorrect way to tap the brains of more experienced fish owners.

    Bottom cleaner?

GOT IT. Is there any single small (1 to 1 1/2 inches) bottom feeder that would be appropriate if I need one?

    Bottom cleaner?

The big question--do I need a bottom feeder? If so, is there any single fish that you could recommend?

    Bottom cleaner?

I'm also considering whether I need a bottom feeder. Originally I had 5 tetras, a small pleco, & a couple guppies to a 12 gallon tank. The pleco pretty much stays in his castle & never comes out, even at night. I give the pleco 1/2 an algae tab every day into his castle. The guppies...

    sick molly

How in the world do you feed a molly by hand? Do you mean with lettuce or boiled spinach that I've heard recommended. Mine never touched the stuff. Just clouded up the water...

    sick molly

I've read that mollies are the most sensitive of the live bearers. If anything is "off" in the tank, they are the 1st to become ill. I found that true in our case. The best thing I've found to keep them healthy is to stay current with PWC, keep temp at 80 & water alkaline. Also, they really...

    want to trade guppies

I hope my posting this here won't get me in trouble, but I don't have enough posts to put this request in the "buy/sell/trade" section. Most of my male guppies have beautiful long orange tail fins & caudal fins with a snakeskin pattern to the body. Most of the females have orange tails, some...

question for KXM--how exactly do guppies "errupt their guts". You're kidding, right?

    molly growth cycle?

We got some molly babies that were 1 month old in late July. They don't seem to be growing very fast--only about 1/2 inch long now. Does anybody know how long it takes from birth to maturity? We have them in different tanks--a 30 gal with guppies & a 12 gal w/ tetras. The latter is...

    Driftwood Dummy needs IMMEDIATE HELP

Driftwood dummy No, I didn't wash/soak it before hand. (Hear the sound of head hitting against wall). I did rinse it under hot water before putting it in the tank. Where did it come from? Good question. It was sitting around my house for 10 yrs with a bunch of shells. Then spent...

    Driftwood Dummy needs IMMEDIATE HELP

Thanks for the quick replies. After I posted, I found the excellent article by Scott68TN. The tank looked nicer when the water was crystal clear, so I will be doing the water changes & changing the carbon filter. Does anyone know if the gravel needs to be washed or changed to kid rid of...

    Driftwood Dummy needs IMMEDIATE HELP

I put a piece of driftwood in my established 12 gal freshwater tank 5 days ago. Now my water is yellow. The fish appear healthy but I need to know ASAP whether I should perform several partial water changes or a complete water change. I also have 2 established other tanks that could...
