Do you know all the filter size that would fit a 55 gallon tank? I'm trying to find the smallest one since I'll have two duel sponge filter. I have two filters that rated for 10 gallon and neither fit my 55 because of the rim.
Is it really that great that that's all you have? Have you tried others? I've been watching the price for the tetra whisper but everyone that posted so far in this thread makes it seem like I should watch for AquaClear.
It's a great investment.
Amazon has it for $19.99 right now and if you do subscribe and save it's $18.99 (If you're not familiar with s&s, you can cancel right after it ships and you don't have to be a prime member). I got it for $16.99 because I have 5+ items.
I've had the two zebra danios back in there and they've been a trooper. It's not a fishless cycle but I just kept the same title for consistency of when I tried the fishless cycle which I'll never attempt again.
My nitrite is not off the chart anymore! After 2 weeks of it being a horrible purple, and nitrate stuck at 5ppm, it is now reading 0.5ppm for nitrite! Hooray!
I tested it an hour or so after a huge water change so I'm weary about the result just cause there was no end in sight. Not that I don't...
Boil them. Don't drop them in hot, rinse them with cool water before dropping them in. Dry them to make sure they drop. Sorry, forgot to tell you that part.
I don't do the boiling anymore and just leave the slices open in the fridge and drop them in the next day.
My snails love cucumber. I leave a slice in and next thing I know, there's a swarm of them on it and the next day the slice has all been devoured skin and all.
Put as much as you think you need to get them all and in a couple hours grab the slice covered in snail and throw away. This isn't a...
Thanks! Yeah, I do the same, used to shake it about 15 seconds cause it was just shook for the previous test but I decided to wait an hour but sometimes I forget to test it. Prolly should just email the company what their recommendation for testing multiple tanks.
Also, for mine, you shake the...
I'm only testing it multiple times a day because I'm cycling the tank and the parameter changes every time. Waiting for it to be cycled so I don't have to test so often.
I always test both my tank back to back but I always leave the nitrate test out for the second tank and do it about an hour later. Is that long enough?
I've heard shaking the bottle not enough or too much skew the result so that is why I assume we can't do the nitrate test one after another...
It was already there in the tank when I put tap water into it. It's just 1 gallon tank.
Would throwing the plant away and keeping the tank dry for a couple days insure these worms are dead? I realized I don't want to buy products to kill them since it only cost me $10 for the tank so it's not...
I bought it a week ago and I'm using it to breed snails. I haven't fed the snail because I was hoping the worms would die before I clean the tank but it's not so I'm wondering if just rinsing everything with water is sufficient enough or are they like snails, hard to get rid of. I don't want...
It's all on the glass right above the water line.
Would throwing everything away and rinsing the plant get rid of it or would they repopulate? Should I throw away the plant also? I'm guessing the plant is Amazon Sword? I'm new to plants so I don't have enough knowledge and experience to ID. I...
