Since my last big problem i have already acquired a new anchor coral. and it is doing fine for the last week.
I hope these white specs dont try to take over my tank again.
Thanks guys.
Yes my tap water has a bit of ammonia in it. I now do water changes with distilled water. Yes Mike, my tank is cycling all over again. it surprised me. I didnt think that would happen.
And someone told me that those tiny little hard white specs everywere are actually a type of worm? I dunno...
Yes. An Alveopra, Anchor, and Candy cane. =(
My Alk and Ammonia are high. everyone tells me to do a water change. I have already done that and it has not dropped.
I'm kinda lost, my tank has never gone through this before.
I had a problem with these smalle snail reproducing and ammonia and alk problems. i did a water change and my alk and ammonia are still borderline high.
And also. I was convinced to purchase a dKH buffer. My calcium is never low. are theere any other advantages to dosing with this buffer?
Thanks Lando.
Thats what i thought too! thats why I took one of the bulbs to petco to try to test it but they told me they dont do that. I want to make sure its the bulbs before i order them. It could be the ballast. how can i test that?
I should still order the bulbs, i guess, since i have...
Last year i bought a light fixture from Aquatraders.com. Its a 36 inch fixture with two power compacts and a Metal halide. I think The 2 compact fluorescent bulbs burnt out. How can i tell if they burnt out? and if they are burnt out. which lights should i replace them with. Originally it came...
Thanks Melosu58.
I stayed up till 2 AM this morning. I did a water change scrubbed every inch of my wet/dry filter, skimmer and bio balls. My water parameters are level again except my calcium, it dropped to 320. Im gettin that back up slowly. (I dose with purple up).
With this dKH...
Ok ALL my levels are high. My calcium is at 500.
Obviously a water change and Wet/Dry filter cleaning is a must. What else should i do?
And how does calcium and alk go hand and hand? and what is this dKH buffer for? is that to raise it? what if its already too high.
Im so confused.
I Recently Purchased a Red Sea test kit. I always used to have my water tested at Petco But I decided to start testing my water more frequently due to a loss of a Alveopora, Anchor coral and a Candy Cane.
I dont think this test kit is any good. Are there any better ones out there?
And are...
