well i figured since it was highly filtered water, and i was going to use it with saltwater setup, might as well use it for fresh....any reason for diluting it? does tap water contain chemicals/minerals/something beneficial to freshwater setups that the ro/di process would remove?

starting a thread on this cuz i cant seem to find much info when i search..
i am in plans to startup a saltwater tank, and one of my first purchases will be a ro/di filtration unit....is it safe to use this water in my freshwater tank? after i slowly acclimate my fish to it of course...
any idea how many snails i'll get from this? i lost one snail the other day, so having more seems fine to me, unless i'm going to get 100's of them....

hrmm, i just thought of something...i use a python to do water changes....would it be safe for me to rinse out the filter in the water that is flowing out of the faucet end when i switch the python to vacuum?
so i was at the pet store the other day, and noticed on the back of the filter media i was looking at, that you should change your filter every 2-4 weeks...I'm still cycling, and its been about 3 weeks now....should i wait to change out my filter media until my tank has cycled? I'm just thinking...
