    Koi Angelfish Not Eating

Thank you so much. The pH is 7.0. He's the only angel and no new fish have been added. I haven't made any dietary changes. I have noticed his left gill isn't moving much, but there's no external damage. I haven't seen any discharge, but I'll get him in isolation and watch for it. Thanks again.

    Koi Angelfish Not Eating

My 4 yr old Koi Angel isn't eating. Night before last he looked really sick at the bottom of the 55g tank. The next morning he was swimming okay but staying low in the water and not coming up to the top at feeding time. Today he's still not eating. He tried at particles floating by, but spit out...

    Yoyo loach Fungus?

Thank you for reading. It could be a wound. I'll treat for fungus as suggested. I wanted a second opinion before adding meds to the tank. The tank is under stocked right now, so the low nitrate isn't a surprise. Thanks again for your help.

    Yoyo loach Fungus?

My yoyo loach has a large white spot (fungus?) on her snout. See picture. She's eating and active. No tank mates have symptoms. I haven't added anything new. This is a 20 yo, 55g established tank. The pH is 7.4, Ammonia, Nitrate & Nitrite are all 0. Does anyone know what this is and what to do...

    Angel mouth gunk

Hi. My 8 yr old common angelfish has a growth of something on one side of his mouth. It's whitish-gray, soft looking clumps. When I first noticed it, he could hardly open his mouth. The 55gal tank parameters are all within normal range. No other fish have symptoms. I've been treating with...

    Pleco Adoption Help

My 16", 10 year old pleco was too big for my 55 gal tank, but I didn't know what to do about it. I called a pond store. They adopt plecos and use them to keep their display ponds clean during the summer. In winter, they are kept in a huge 200gal bin. This was the ideal solution for my beloved...

    Aggressive pleco queston

Hi. My 9 year old, 16" pleco has become aggressive. He goes after my angelfish a lot, but also the 3 small fish too. They have all been tank mates for many years with no problem. Does anyone know why my beloved pleco would suddenly become aggressive? What can I do about it? Is there any place...

Angelfish extremely sick!! No idea what it has please help

Gee this is tough. I'm so sorry, but the symptoms sound dire to me. Too much treatment can kill a stressed fish. Call the nearest zoo and ask for the fellow in aquatics. Maybe s/he can help. Good luck.

    Suspected Lymphocystis

Sorry your fish is sick. I checked The Manual of Fish Health (A great resource). Do the lumps resemble molten candle wax? If so, it is probably fish pox. Lymphocytosis is usually one lump not 2-3 like yours has. There's no effective treatment other than a water change and up the temp by approx...

    URGENT:Rope fish dying

So sorry for your loss. I love my pleco & would be brokenhearted to lose him, so I know what you mean about loving a fish. Maybe a different source will have a better result.

Is my fish sick with something?

I agree, probably nothing to worry about. Some of my fish have this and I've had them for years.

Something funny going on with my fish

I usually add salt to my tank after a 50% water change. But doubt it will help with your problem. It certainly won't hurt. I dissolve it in tank water in the microwave & wait for it to cool before adding to the tank. The most common problem is overfeeding. They should get just a tiny pinch of...

    URGENT:Rope fish dying

From what I've read & your description it sounds like a fungus. They can progress rapidly. Treat with an anti-fungal. The mucus membrane on fish usually protects them, but if they have been fighting or were handled roughly the membrane gets damaged and allows the fungus to attack. The book also...
