Ok so I finally have this new tank figured out.... I think my fish aren't dieing anymore and my tank is almost done with its cycle, but now I have brown allege growing. I talked to the someone at the fish store and he said I need to drain my tank and clean it, let it dry a day then put it all...
yeah that's what I've been doing for the last 2 weeks, I bought the test kit and everytime my ammonia levels where high I did a 50% water change. That has been working but now ny Nitrates are really high.... even if I do a water change they r still high, what should I do to lower them?
Ok so I tested the ammonia levels today and it was up to 4, I took 1/2 the water out and added new it dropped to a 2 but I know its still to high.... my fish are not swimming at the top anymore and look better but I'm sure the levels will be high again in the morning. What else can I do
Oh ok that makes sense, I have a friend that has a tank with coy and goldfish in it, but his tank is pretty dirty and has redish slimy stuff on his filter.... do u think that it would be ok to take a piece of it and put it in my filter or not becaues I have heard that coy and goldfish produce...
Ok sounds good, I'll do that then test the water and let you know, I do have one concern tho, none of my fish are very big the biggest is maybe 2" is it save to do 2 50% water changes with them being so small? I just dont want to stress the out too much

2 Swordtail and a sucker fish, I know angelfish are aggressive but the 3 I have just hang out in there lil cave together thry dont really mess with the others

I know.... not smart but I'm new to this, I have a 55 gallon freshwater tank and I have had 4 fish died in the last week :( I know my ammonia levels are to high, I took 25% water out added conditioner and water then went to work, when I got home 3 more where dead..... I dont know what to do I...
