Molly dither fish for breeding kribs?

Hi all, Recently rescued a bucket full of fish from an infuriating couple that didn't give a s&£t about water quality or feeding or just general care of the poor little buggers. After getting them all back to fighting fitness and rehousing most of them I've decided to keep the pair of...

    Bumblebee Catfish (SA): jumpers?

Hi there, Live the bumblebee cats, they are lovely little fish, but they love hiding and burying themselves in the substrate. I think they'll just be darting to the surface for a lung full of air and overshooting it slightly. Shouldn't be an issue with a lidless tank. I don't think....

    New RES mom

Hi, I kept a red eared terrapin for 15 years from approx the same age. While growing they enjoy meaty foods ie mealworms, worms, fish, mine used to eat ham and beef too. As they age they start enjoying their greens more, dandelion, blanched lettuce, courgette, etc. A sun lamp is ideal over the...

    Fry guppies born!!

Congrats on the babies! Do you have any plants in your tank? Guppy fry will generally grow out on insofuria (think I spelt that wrong), micro algae and biofilm that covers most aquatic plants. They'll take flake and other foods when they are big enough. Hope that helps :p

    Amazing adolescent angelfish!

Don't apologise for that response! The behaviour is fascinating!! I'm going to guess (and I do mean guess, this is purely hyperthetical) that the marble female (shadow was it?) is fighting fit and ready to breed, but in the absence of a partner, is just as happy to brood and protect other pairs...

    Feeding live fish and disease

Merely stating that I'm all for feeder fish if I could get 'em here. Medicated and gut loaded I don't see an issue. And quality community fish is a stretch, you haven't seen some of the stock at my LFS ;)

    Feeding live fish and disease

I've never experienced problems with feeder fish or shrimp, used to feed both to a selection of predators. Even had a pike gourami alive and well for 2+ years on them. Saying that, feeder fish are not really available over here in England. I used to just buy small tetras, mountain minnows...

    DFS

I was upset tbh, botia loaches have such personality. On a lighter note I popped to my LFS and picked up 2 more yoyo's and they are acclimatised and playing happily with my surviving 2. Happy days! Please no more DFS!!!

    Dead shrimp

Everyone in there would have a nibble at a dead shrimp. Probably the other shrimp the main culprits
