That'll still work fine, you want the bacteria that's in his filter. The dirt and slime may be unsightly if it comes off the filter into your tank but it won't hurt anything.

The temp was near freezing. It's a 25 gallon tank and I changed 3 gallons out with warm water. Letting the heater do the rest. All the CPD's have survived and seem to be doing fine. I lost 3 black neons and one isn't well, but the rest are coming around I think they'll be fine.

Power just came back on a little while ago. I've lost some black neons and the rest don't look so good but there alive, can't see any dead CPD's yet. About to start doing a big water change with warm water.

Ok thanks. I have been seeing some brown algae do I probably have been giving it too much light lately. The wife has a habit of turning it on when she wakes up and turning it off before bed, 15-16hrs a day of light lol

Sorry to hijack, but can any of you recommend a lighting schedule for my CPD's? I got a new single ramp timer for Christmas and can't wait to try it out tomorrow! My tank has no live plants, and for lighting I have a 24" BeamsWork LED 400.

Few questions about this. I been thinking about this setup and tearing apart the AIO stuff. If I can get it for a decent price I could probably put a false wall into a 40 breeder and put all the parts from the sea max into the 40b. Would this be a worthwhile project?
