    we have a maroon clownfish and bought it a mate. the mate was smaller and we thought they would evenually sort it out after a bit of nudging and nipping. we woke up the next morning, the smaller clownfish was on its side and all its fin were basically gone. already paired maroons should be ok...

    we bought a maroon clownfish and the anm at the same time. basically, we had them in the same bag as we transported them home. we left them together in the same bag for about a hour. went we let them out, the clownfish immediately hosted the anm.

    It's only a small tank to start off with. Maybe go bigger down the track. Its only about 30cm, or 1 foot. We were told that if we wanted coral, we needed LEDs

    Does anyone know what sort of lighting you have to have for coral in a saltwater tank. I've been told to use led lighting but I can't justify spending $250 on a light.....

    Yes it does cause algae issues. We have a blue light which allows us to see the fish but isn't bright, and also keeps algae to a minimum.

    My girlfriend and I argue over the fact that she thinks the white light should stay on in the tank 24/7. I think its ok to leave the blue light on but the white light should be turned off after feeds. She believes the white light is good for the baby bristlenose because the more aggressive fish...
