I lost my coral beauty today.She was fine yesterday,but the strange thing was that the eyes were gone and a small piece of her tail.when i removed her,she was covered in a thick glob of clear mucus that stunk to high heaven.My tank has no foul smell to it and waterchange was carried out 2 days...

That was disgusting to watch.The horror of the whole thing is that this guy more than likely has an aquarium back at his pigsty.

Today my fellow salters,I lost my coral banded shrimp of 5 years.:sad:,i've lost others before but always through confrontation with other tankmates.Just curious,did he/she lived a decent life or is this a sign that something may be going on in my tank.The shrimp was completely intact.

siphon out the cyano. when you do your waterchanges and like kms907 said watch your feeding amounts.it will take time but you will eventually win.

I also have a cbs but my clarkii's wont go near it,however my coral beauty literally lies down on its side infront of it for cleaning which prompted me to get a skunk cleaner.your cbs would have attacked already at the first chance.you should be ok.

Is your lighting new or should i say your bulbs (fairly)?

After running your canister with the extra filter floss, i would remove the media and replace it with LR rubble.

Are you using tap water?if so your municipal water treatment practices may not be up to par.I know people who have great success using tap water and those that have had nothing but headaches.
