Very nice job on the lights, I wish I had those kind of soldering skills. Do you plan on putting any type of protection over the lights?

Hi everyone, i was wondering if anyone else is having trouble with their neo therm heaters? i reached my hand into my sump and got a pretty good zap. after doing a little online research i have found that there have been a few people that actually have had these heaters fill their homes with...
I'm using a reef octopus nwb200 rated for 250 gallons on a 40 breeder with another 40 for the sump. It's probably 65 total gallons and it's working fine. I planned on running it on a timer but I've only ever shut it off during water changes and cleaning, and I've never had a problem.
Thanks for the input. I do have a refugium in my sump but it only has live rock in it. I tried keeping chaeto in it but it didn't last long. It just fell apart and I eventually siphoned it out. I'm open to suggestions for other macros and also toyed with the idea of an algae turf scrubber.
Hi all, im having a cyano outbreak and im not sure of the cause. i checked all of my parameters today and everything seems on point with the exception of my alk being a little low.
alk 6.832 dkh (hanna checker)
phosphate .02 (hanna checker)
calcium 431 ppm (hanna checker)
mag 1390 (salifert)...
When I cured mine I used saltwater and tested weekly for phosphates. Once my tank was ready I put the rock in and cycled with no problems. I know I read all about how phosphates are really bad with this rock but I didn't see any using my Hanna checker.
