i was trying to buy one from a store and they didnt know what it was, athough on the tank they were in it was written arrowhead-8.99, i tried to tell them that it was an arrowhead gourami or paradise fish or whet ever, but they were convinced it was a gudgeon. I was so pissed I left.
if yoi included tails in measuring angels you could have angels that are longer than a foot mabey(Veil tails).
p.s. i just moved an angel into a tank with the other one and I just noticed their cleaning a leaf to spawn on, one is pure white with blue eyes, veil tail the other is pearls skin...
Even though you got the to feed off bloodworms I would still try to contact the guy you got them from and figure out if he was using any dry food. It is sometimes very hard for discus to take dry food, but if you can train them too it is very worth the effort. switching off with dry and frozen...
ive had good luck with juust getting the fish in great condition before I left, like feeding mabey 2x a day for a few days before, then doing a water change shortly before i left, and then nothing for about a week, mabey more.

i think you may be a slight bit misinformed. most of the mentioned angel fish are all forms of Pterophyllum scalare. that is the most common angel fish in the aquarium trade. Gold angels, marbled, zebra ect are all forms of this species.
and they are the most hardy of the angels, or at least...
