I have a 55g Malawi cichlid tank. I just have a common pleco for a bottom feeder. Cichlids(malawis atleast) are fairly clean/low waste producing fish, I doubt you'll have algae or water quality problems as long as you have a pleco, I didn't. Plecos are of the few bottom feeders which are armored...
Angels can be tricking when it comes to tankmates I have mine with swordtails and dwarf gauramis. The angel were hostile toward the gauramis and even killed one but they got used to each other after awhile. I had some black mollies with them too and they killed two of the angels so I removed...
Hey I was just wonderin if anyone has a jaguar cichlid and if they would like to share their experience with it and/or show some pictures. I'm not thinking of getting one but I find them interesting and don't know much about them(or south American cichlids in general). Thanks

Thanks guys, I'm working on getting a larger aquarium. They(the green terrors and firemouths) are still juvenile so I didn't feel the need to spend so much money right away, seeing as I already had the 55. As for the diet, my Oscar won't eat non-live food(I understand that's probably my fault)...
I was just wondering if anyone has food suggestions for my Oscar, green terrors, and firemouths.
Right now I'm feeding them crickets, goldfish and guppies with live plant supplements
Hey I'm new here. I have a few biotope style aquarium set ups and would be interested in hearing/seeing some pictures of some your guy's biotopes or ideas for them.
Thanks
As they get older they'll get more brave. Make sure you clean the filter frequently and keep the water well balanced. My green terrors act like that too if I don't clean the filter often enough. Also, give them vegetable supplements, helps their color and over all health
In my experience firemouths are wimps, put in a larger fish and he'll settle down. Maybe an Oscar. I have an Oscar, two green terrors and two firemouths in a 55g
