    NW Philadelphia, Chestnut Hill area

Need advice on where to look for livestock in the NW Philly area. Will be moving to Chestnut Hill soon, and can't seem to find anything good on googlemaps. Only ones I saw either had a dead link or got crappy reviews. Can anyone in the area point me in the right direction? TIA.

    sump return questions

I think I'm just going to get the CPR one with the aqualift pump. If it works well, I'll make sure to tell you guys about it (especially if it does NOT work well). Thanks for all the input.

    sump return questions

I saw that too, but I thought it was just for priming. Not sure how it would work if it was hooked constantly to a pump. I suppose that if the power went out and went back on, the return would start filling up the HOB overflow, and the "priming pump" would also turn back on, re-priming the...

    sump return questions

Well, if you guys have had good experience with it, I'll pick that up instead. I'll probably run a Mag 5. At around 4 feet, it should give me the 300 GPH to prevent overflow. Do you guys also just use clear vinyl tubing (and what size)? Do I need a diverter valve? Thanks for all the help...

    sump return questions

That helps, but I think the CPR doesn't use a tube. Do the principles of the tube follow? This is the link to the one I'm contemplating purchasing. CPR Overflow Box

    sump return questions

Not sure if I'm phrasing it properly. I am under the impression that when using a HOB overflow box, the siphon is broken when power cuts off and water back flows into the sump via the return outlet. The actual question is: When the power comes back on and the return pump starts filling the...

    sump return questions

My question is somewhat related to starting a new tank with sump. In case of a power outage and the power comes back, won't the main tank overflow when the return pump kicks in? This takes into account a HOB overflow, not a built-in of course. How would someone avoid this catastrophic event?

salt water, marine stores around charlotte

Need suggestions on where to find salt water/marine stores in Charlotte/Concord/Kannapolis. I recently moved to Albemarle about 40 mins east of Charlotte. Hate to say it, but nothing here for the hobbyist. TIA.

    Is it a button polyp?

Alright, I've put scissors to the nasty little critters. One of them actually POPPED and sent juice squirting everywhere. Nasty...I think my mouth was open and everything! I scraped off as much of the majano as I could and dug the scissors in real good into the rock to get any...

    Is it a button polyp?

It's a Majano Anemone!!! Good call Kurt! I looked up some other pics online, and not all of them have the pretty tips. Some look like plain old zoos. Now, I've got some in a 2.5 gallon pico. What's the best way to get rid of them? I'm afraid of killing my mushrooms and star polyps...:(

    Is it a button polyp?

Definitely not aiptasia, and not hydroid. I took a pic of it earlier as best I could with my cam, but sadly, kinda blurry. I'll try and post it tomorrow when I get home from work. Thanks for suggestions.

    Is it a button polyp?

Just looked at your link with all the pics. It looks remarkably like a plain zoo. But they shouldn't be floating around and spreading like that right?
