Well I QT's the gramma and the other clown. Got rid of the ick...added them gramma and clown back to the main tank and noticed the gramma was pale...he died.
This is getting annoying. The other clown and the firefish seem to be fine. If the clown died I may end up moving the firefish to the 10...
I was reading up on the "common spotted puffer" and noticed they get around 6-7''. Which is cool. He is now my favoritefish since my gramma died. I have had two SW fish die really fast....if this keeps up I am not sure what I am going to do. But the puffer is cool. I may get a couple mono's to...
I purchased one of these guys http://chunkypuff.net/speciesinfo.php?cat=3&id=nigroviridis recently and put him in my 29 gallon fresh. I have slowly been adding Instant Ocean to the tank. Still very low salinity levels. I would like to put him in my 10 gallon saltwater tank. According to that...
Gramma was the last fish to be added. Approx. 2 weeks ago.
Good news is that the ick seems to be gone already. I am going to leave them in QT a few more days and keep treating. The firefish is fine. But he is freaked out because I had to move everything in the tank around to catch the gramma...
ahhh now the other clown and my gramma have ICK! I just went out and bought a 10 gallon and setup a QT tank. I hope they make it. Firefish is the only one that hasnt died or got sick....
He has been eating great. He was actually the oldest fish in the tank. Its been in the tank for around 2 months. It always eats great. Prior to that feeding he was up at the top swimming begging for food like normal. Then literally 20 min later he was on the bottom dieing. I still think he must...
That will not affect other fish besides clowns will it?
Everybody else appears to be good. So I will just have to give it a few weeks and see what happens. Then I may replace him...well her.
Earlier today my clownfish were both fine. Today I was talking on the phone and fed my fish. There were some pretty big flakes in there also. Well I got off the phone and looked. I notice my oldest O. clown was lieing on the bottom gasping. He was getting pale. No ick spots or rotting but color...
I have 2 percula clowns, 1 firefish, and 1 royal gramma in my 38 gallon. They are fine together.
I added the gramma and one my clowns instantly went up and looked the gramma right in the eyes. Then the gramma opened up his mouth real wide and the clown took off.
Firefish didn't even seem to...
I keep my tanks at 78-79 degrees with a SG of 1.024. Everything is fine.
I think your just paranoid. I always am when I first start a new tank. I always put a damsel in first to make sure water is ok. Then I still get worried whenever I add a more expensive fish.
I would use RO or distilled water if all possible. I filled my tanks up then thought ahhh I wish I would have used RO water.
I have had 0 problems with algea. So maybe I got lucky. Or maybe my city water is better than most places.
I got lucky....but I would definetly use RO is possible...
I filled with tap and top off with distilled. With no algea problems.
I would maybe try to get my fish from somewhere else and see how they do. You could possibly be buying sick fish. Also make sure you acclimate the fish right. I killed a couple damsels because I through them in to fast...
