    It can be deadly if its high enough though a good water conditioner like prime will remove any heavy metals in your water though and make it safe , as for other things I'm not sure, only thing that comes to mind is ammonia, nitrite, and nitrates, as well as copper if plan to ever keep inverts

    No you should be fine with cleaning the substrate if it that's dirty, just don't clean your filter yet

    do you plan on getting a 250 gallon or bigger tank in the future? otherwise that tank is too small for a freshwater stingray in fact id say your pretty much stocked seeing how big some of those fish, the red tailed cat in particular, that can get up to 4 feet

    no any will do, you can get this at most hardware stores. i use this one though and it does say fish safe, so maybe this will be the better one to use Lifegard Aquatics Silicone Lubricant small bottle but will last a very long time
