I think I am finally on the home stretch with my 55 gallon tank.
This was the tank that I set up at the end of June and it still isn't cycled.
I was having trouble with the water parameters not moving, and a pH of 6.0. We had a few plants, lava rocks and sand... I really had lost all hope...
I think you are confused on which fish tank I am talking about, this is the 55 gallon long that I only have 1 mollie in, I had 4 but 3 died…. The 55 gallon long is the one that has the low pH…
The last time I did a water change I only took water out, I did not touch the rocks or the substrate and it stalled my cycle. I am just telling you what I have been told no need to get snippy. I am looking for help.
This is the tank that has the low pH, and I have been trying to get to cycle since June. We did get fish but they went into the other 55 gallon tank.
I did not do a water change. Just added water to this tank on Friday evening.
Ok I tested the 55g long, the one that has the low pH and here are the water parameters. I am FINALLY seeing some major results from nitrites and nitrates. Ammonia is high though.
Ok. So yesterday we went to Petco and got some Mollies for the 55 gallon bow front tank. While I was letting acclimate to the water I filled a 5 gallon bucket and put prime in it and let it set while I tested the water parameters.
If I remember correct the ammonia was at 0, nitrites were...
So I needed to add water to my tanks, so I got a 5 gallon bucket filled it up and added Prime to it and let it set while I tested the tanks. I want to get a reading before I added anything to both tanks.
