    I'm going to add LR. What do I need at the ready?

    Ok, I've made the decision to add LR to my already up and running 29 gallon aquarium. I will order from liverocks.com. I've read the article on curing live rock on this site. I think I should begin with 10 pounds, get that established, then consider adding more. Does that sound reasonable...

    One thing I'm unclear on -- and I'm probably just misunderstanding: what kind of "life" (aside from bacterial) can I expect to find on my LR? I was reading about the different types of LR on liverocks.com, and some seem to come with corals -- won't this die off of I don't have the right lights...

    I don't know what to do next.

    I was under the impression that keeping the extra HOB running in my main tank would provide for instant biological filtration when I moved it to the QT. Is this not neccessary?
