    Killer Shrimp

One rule of thumb I use when i buy a pleco is paying close attention to the stomach. If it appears sunken, I generally don't buy it as I believe this is tell tale signs of not being feed enough during move or by pet shop. IMHO

Lighting for a 20-gallon tall tank

Would such a lighting fixture, like the one you've linked, fit int he place that a canopy has for the lighting fixture? Or would it require having no canopy on the tank?

    Coral in fresh water?

Have a friend that lives in barbados. She was thinking of bringing me back some coral (I'm assumign dead and I've told her if she was to make sure it was dead) to put in my tank. Would thi scause any problems in a freshwater planted tank that I should be aware of?

    Moss Wall

Well, got the stuff I am thinkign I will be needing. Have assembled most of the wall so far, all I need now is to insert the moss, but it's late and tank lights are off. Will see if I can post some pictures tomorrow or sometime.

    Sediment in tank

So any answer to my previous question? How ofen can one do water changes? Will a 50% water change once every two days till I am happy that this excess sediment is gone be too stressful on the fish?

    Moss Wall

As I was relaxing and thinking about this moss wall while watching Tom and Jerry, I came up with an idea. I am going to go see if I can find soem foam like what was used in the one moss wall tutorial. And use this foam to creat a "seal" around the edge of the wall, that way when the suction...

    Moss Wall

I was looking at those, but I could only find white ones. Would rather use something a little darker.

    Moss Wall

I like what he did there. I'd only wish I could find the same type of mesh that all these people are using. Anything I find is flimsy. Due to this, I have another question: What could I use to create a frame like struture for this wall? Hoping to do this so that it fits tightly against the...

    Inch Per Gallon

My mother had kept fish for a good 10 years, I have just recently started, though have had my current tank going on for at least two years now. No expert, but I do enjoy the hobby.

    Moss Wall

I would go with a christmas moss wall, but I have a coupel problems. One I can't find a place that you can buy it and they ship to canada. And my LFS rarely carries stranger plants, been lucky yesterday and cought a LFS that just had a shipment arrive that wasn't all sold out yet. Now looking...

    Inch Per Gallon

I generally think with smaller fish, you don't need to follow it as often, but the bigger the fish, the more closely you need to follow it. I also look at what you have as well. I have two dragon goby's, a stripped rapheal and a pleco. This fish alone would put me over my "inch/gallon" but as...

Magnets safe for use in a tank?

I've been playing around with suction cups. I think it will be easier with this plastic chicken wire the it was with window screening, will just require a bit of twist tying the suction cups in place.

    Heater Question

Ah, cool. that will make things easier for this moss wall I am making, even though I just cut a section of plastic chicken wire to fit that side of the tank, but this can be changed easily, as I'd rather have oly two sections of my moss wall to attach rather then three.

    Moss Wall

Well, I went out and bought soem plastic chicken wire. Better grid size, though a little bigger being at 1cm (2mm bigger then what the guide suggests) Another problem I have come up with is the filter. The intake pipe is also on the back wall, which will mean I will be placing at least 3...
