Water temp control (too hot during the summer)

One improvement I would add to this is a power head to keep the cool water flowing over the pipes to be more efficient. But it's worki g for now.

Water temp control (too hot during the summer)

Here are some photos of what I rigged up. This is temporary seeing as I'll have my office with A.C. completed soon. To answer your question about leaving for a week. I'll still need to have someone feed my fish and my dogs while I'm out of town.

Water temp control (too hot during the summer)

So I came up with a rig that seems to be working. I got a bunch of 1/2 inch T fittings and a couple 90s with about 20 feet of copper pipes. Connected them all together in a spare tank. I have a 770GPH pump passing the tank water through the spare tank with ice water chilled to 60 degrees. I was...

Water temp control (too hot during the summer)

I have a new 45 Gallon trash can that I'm thinking of running garden hose through and filling it with ice and pumping the tank water through to cool it. The tank water would never come into contact with anything other than the pump and the inside of the garden hose. I guess if the hose is...

Water temp control (too hot during the summer)

Hello, I have a 55G/110G tank and both are temporarily in my garage because my office is being built. My garage gets upwards to 95 on a day where it's only 80 outside. So I purchased some large industrial fans to keep the air moving and cooling. But we are expecting 110 degrees over the weekend...

I have a 110g tank sitting on the side lines. Once I get my office completed I'll transition everything over to the 110g. Thanks again for all your advice and contributions to this thread.

Pleco looks like it may have fungus

Hello, infant to thank everyone who contributes to this thread. My pleco fully recovered and has been transitioned back into the main display tank. It's been a little over a week now and what I have noticed is the other pleco I have seems a bit territorial and aggressive. Makes me believe that...

Getting back into Cichlids after over 10 years away from the hobby

Hey there folks, I'm very excited to share my most recent struggles. I first setup my Eheim 250 and my driftwood in a 5 gallon bucket and let that run for about 4 weeks, then I setup a 30g bow front. After 2 weeks I added 3 cichlids and 2 plecos. 4 weeks later I transitioned everything from my...

Pleco looks like it may have fungus

Medication says to do a water change after 7 days and resume treatment if needed. Today is day 8 with meds. So I did a 50% water change and vacuumed all the poop up. Added water treatment for chlorine and meds with stress coat and filled it back up. Water temp went down to 77 from 83. I should...

Pleco looks like it may have fungus

Update: water parameters have been stable. Pleco is eating and swimming around. Looks like it's healing pretty well. It's got some of its colors back. Still a little spotty but the medications most definitely working.
