I've started a new 55g community tank and was wondering if GBR and Bolivian Rams are compatible together. I've already got 2 GBRs in the tank now but wanted to move my Bolivian ram into the same tank but don't want any issues. Thanks in advance for any help on this

I don't plan on moving any fish but the nitrates are rather high before I do a wc. Would it hurt at all to try it? I have moved some of the media to the new one but that hasn't seemed to do anything.

I currently have a 12g tank that I've had running for 4 years now and I'm starting a 50g setup. My question is can I use water from a wc on my established tank and use it to get the cycle going on the new tank? Any opinions are appreciated

I got this guy from my lfs. He was marked as a bumblebee pleco. I've been looking on the net for pics of them but none seem to look quite like mine. The closest I've been able to find is a tiger pleco. Not the best pic cuz he hides a lot but any info would help.

I've had this guy for about a year now. My lfs said it was a bumblebee pleco. Is that what it is?? It's about 3" long now. He likes to hide in the cave most of the day. Comes out after the lights go off at night.

Thanks for all the replies! I've decided to go with an aqua clear 110. I'll start there and see if I need to add another one. I checked the measurements of my tank and it's actually a 50g tank. The AC 110 has a 500 gph rating so that's 10x filtration on a 50g tank.
So the 110 should be enough...
I'm looking at different types of filtration for a 55g long tank. I'm certain I don't want to go UGF and can't afford a canister. So I saw the Fluval U series and can't find anything on this forum about it. Was wondering if anyone has used them and if so how they like them.

It's 48" long. If there's no such thing as too much then what's the minimum? 5x? So that would be about 275 gph?

So if I were to buy a HOB for a 55g, what size would I want to get?
I'm liking the Aquaclear brand, would the 110 work or is that too much filtration for 55g. Is there such a thing as too much?

Hi everyone,
I'm in the planning stage for my 55 gallon tank.
I bought the tank from a friend and he used a Topfin 60 and UGF with air stones and said he had no issues. After some reading on the forum, it seems the UGF is not the way to go because of clogs and such. So...
My question is...
