I have some sort of weird algae growing basically only on the glass. It appears to be really stringy and will come back within a day of scraping it with a mag float. Thanks for the help.

Yeah honestly I have not really been impressed by matrix but purigen really does wonders.

In mine, I have purigen, some lr rubble, and some matrix.

You can usually just ask your LFS if you can have some of theirs. They will usually give them to you for free. That's what I do.

Here's the new rock work. My reefs2go order came last week and I was pretty impressed. Now I'm starting to come up with a stocking plan. I also noticed a bunch of copepods on the glass so I must be doing something right.
