Well, over a week later and the ick seems to be gone!! yay!! :multi: :multi: :multi: The heat/salt treatment does seem to work, i didn't even attempt to use meds. I jsut followed the advice from everyone here and my lfs and it worked! I still have my temps up and will for another week...

we have 3 filters on our 5 gal tank and the only paroblem it seems to cause is a lot of current. So go right ahead, enjoy your filtration! :D :D

I'm using the heat/salt treatment for ick right now in my 20 gal, and i have a rubberlip pleco in there. He seems to be doing fine with the salt and the temp is at 82F, and we're well into day three. Betcha your pleco will be just fine. Good luck! :D

lol..sounds too funny...my pleco amuses me often lately ( i have to get out more!!) :lol: I'm hoping that he likes the food...doesn't seem to show much interest in anything else i feed the fish...likes his driftwood though rarely leaves it :D

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I ended up using my brandnew metal-less hair elastic to tie down the piece of zuccini. I hope he likes it! 8)

can anyone tell me if there are any good fish stores in the edmonton area, other than the obvious chain stores (petsmart etc) and big al's?? I don't find that big al's is very newbie friendly, plus they're waaaaaaaay on the other side of the city from me!! :D Thanks for the help

might sound stupid, but id like to give my pleco some zuccini, but i have nothing but twist ties or hair elastics(no metal) to tie the zuccini down with...any suggestions??

Nah, snail was dead, poor bugger. Didn't move for a couple of days, his shell was cracked with a small hole when we got him, and his shell was losing colour and looking thin when BF took him out of the tank. (was almost transparent in places) thanks for the fyi though, we'll remember that...
