    Canister Filters

Cleaned today after waiting 10 weeks...It was getting clogged as flow was slowing. Followed your instructions and worked perfectly! I think I will clean every 2 month. Thanks, Brad

    Canister Filters

Thank you... something told me best to leave alone until really necessary. I am using the 2 HOB "Water Polishers" that was include with the Aqueon Quietflow canister filter instead of the typical return flow. The polishers use filter cartridges which in theory should cut down on the filter...

    Canister Filters

Hello, Finally got my aquarium up and running with fish added on June 16. I have an Aqueon Quietflow 400 canister filter for my 75 gallon tank. So far so good... quiet and flow seems okay. I use the 2 "polisher hob" included for the return flow which use filter cartridges. Have changed a few...

    Aqueon Quietflow Canister Filter 400

Not sure where to post this question. I purchased an Aqueon Quietflow Canister filter (400) and am not sure how to access and clean the impeller. Also, how frequent. I don't want to end up breaking "something" in order to clean it. Anyone have this filter and have cleaned the impeller...

    Substrate for planted tanks

Not to sound dumb but I assume only part of the roots get glued? Also, once glued how does the plant "spread"? Thanks

    Substrate for planted tanks

I finally just decided to purchase 100 pounds of Imagitarium Nutmeg Aquarium Gravel for my 75 gallon aquarium. Will just house fish... tetras, platys, swords... the simple stuff! I do like tiger barbs and had many years ago. Purchased 12 so they messed with each other and not my other fish. Also...

    Substrate for planted tanks

Thank you for the information. I think I am going to buy the gravel I mentioned... is 3m to 6m and is noted that it is good for plants. Also, I think I will start off with mostly plastic and gradually add live plants and replace the plastic going forward. I will watch the Thomas video from Big...

    Substrate for planted tanks

Low demand easy plants for sure. Would regular gravel like Imagitarium Nutmeg Aquarium Gravel be ok? Is "supposed" to be good for plants because of its size? I really want something not expensive since if I do not have good luck will go back to plastic. I could always fertilize the plants. Thanks

    Substrate for planted tanks

Maybe this has been answered in posts but I can not find. Will be setting up a planted tank for the first time and have been researching the proper substrate to use. Seachem Flouride Black seems to be 1 of the contenders but have seen good and bad reviews of it. Some say makes water cloudy, not...
